Measuring for your Patio Table Cover

Finding the proper size patio table cover is very important to the overall protection of your patio table. It is always best to select the smallest cover that is equal to or slightly larger than the dimensions of the patio table you are trying to cover. Obviously, covers that are too small will not provide adequate protection for your valuable furniture. Additionally, they will be pulled too tightly which will cause harm to the materials. On the other hand, covers that are too large will not allow for a tight secure fit because they will be too loose. This will create pockets for standing water and ballooning problems on windy days. Follow the simple instructions below to properly measure your patio table. Then review the Patio Table Cover Chart to find the best fitting cover.

Patio Tables :

  1. Make sure you have enough clearance to walk around your patio table for measuring.
  2. For oval or rectangular tables, measure the length (longest distance) from one side of the table to the opposing side of the table. Then measure the width (shorter distance) in the same fashion.
  3. For round tables, simply find the diameter by measuring from one side of the table to the opposing side of the table.
  4. Remember, these measurements are your exact table size. You will need a cover that is slightly bigger that the patio table measurements.
  5. Finally, measure from the ground to the top of the table to obtain the height. We recommend several inches of ground clearance for good ventilation.

Patio Tables with Chairs:

  1. Position all chairs around the table and push them in next to the table.
  2. For oval or rectangular tables, measure the length (longest distance) from the back of one chair across the table to the back of the opposing chair. Then measure the width (shorter distance) in the same fashion.
  3. For round tables, simply find the diameter by measuring from the back of one chair across the table to the back of the opposing chair.
  4. Remember, these measurements will be greater than the measurement of your table alone.
  5. Finally, measure from the ground to the top of the back of a chair to obtain the height. We recommend several inches of ground clearance for good ventilation.
